Stay connected to the rhythm of the Church year.
Below you’ll find our monthly calendar of services, feast days, and parish events. Whether you’re joining us for a weekday Matins or a major feast, this is the place to find what’s coming up at Annunciation.
One of the greatest strengths of Annunciation is its sanctification of time through its daily services.
Vespers
When God created the world, Genesis says that there was “evening and morning the first day”. And so, in the Orthodox Church, the liturgical day begins with the evening service of Vespers. This service usually last 30-45 minutes.
Matins
Matins is the morning service of the Orthodox Church. Like Vespers, it contains a lot of the theology of the saints of the day, the liturgical day, and the feast day. It usually lasts 1.25-1.5 hours.
Divine Liturgy
The Divine Liturgy is the Kingdom of God. It is the union of heaven and earth. It is the heavenly banquet where God nourishes us and further unites us to Him through His Body and Blood. It usually last 1.5 hours.
