For a first-time visitor, we recommend coming to either a Saturday evening Vespers (at 6:00pm) or a Sunday morning Liturgy (at 10:00am). Both of those services have larger attendance and a larger choir. After each Sunday Liturgy we have an agape meal downstairs in our Fellowship Hall that you’re encouraged to attend.  

You’ll see people making the sign of the cross and bowing at different times during the service, venerating icons in a particular way, and singing certain responses from memory. Try not to feel insecure, though! We don’t expect first-time visitors to know all of these things. If you keep coming back, you’ll get the hang of things eventually. Plus, our parishioners are very friendly, and more than happy to answer questions and show you the ropes. So, in sum, you’re welcome to just observe, or you’re welcome to participate in whatever you wish to participate in—except for receiving the sacraments! 

There is no enforced dress code. The best rule of thumb is to dress respectfully. In general, men should wear pants and avoid shirts with large logos or pictures on them. Many women at our parish wear head scarves and long skirts, but many do not. Orthodox monasteries will usually have stricter dress rules.

Yes! Well, 99% of the language in our services is in English. You’ll occasionally hear a “Lord have mercy” in a different language, or the Our Father prayed in Slavonic for our Slavic community members.
